Registering a litter can feel overwhelming—collecting all the necessary information can be tedious, and honestly, a significant part of the challenge is simply setting aside time to complete it. It's not that difficult! However, we understand that it's paperwork, and sometimes you just don't have the time to tackle it!
We continuously look for ways to streamline the registration process for you. Our aim is to keep things simple, allowing you to approach everything related to GOS with excitement and without any apprehension!
We urge our breeders to conduct DNA tests on all breeding animals, in case any questions about the purity of offspring arise. While this is not mandatory, it can enhance your reputation as a breeder and effectively monitor purebred stock at the same time. We sincerely hope you will consider this option!
That being said, we are no longer mandating photos of each piglet's left and right sides for registration to a new owner. Retaining pictures for your records can help you keep track of the breeding stock you have sold, but it's not essential for us to have those pictures in order to issue a pedigree. We believe DNA offers a more precise representation, which is a key focus for us in ensuring purity for our registry.
Should you decide to include a picture, we will incorporate it into the pedigree, and we strongly encourage you to do so. If you're dissatisfied with the picture on your pedigree, you can change it at any time by submitting an "Update Pig Status" form, which can be found in the Registration Forms section under the Members menu. Regularly updating the picture as your pig grows is an excellent way to display what you have!
